Kobeys swap meet

  1. Share your Hospital Horror Story:

    We asked San Diegans to share their “hospital horror stories” or a time they felt misheard or respresented in a medical spaces to better see understand systematic errors.

2. Community Wellness Check

Sofia and Kayla gathered data surrounding 50 San Diegans ideas about health literacy, education and care. The question that guided this research was: How does health literacy affect healthcare decisions among diverse populations in San Diego?

The Questions asked were as follows:

Recently, Sofia and Kayla spent the day at Kobeys Swap Meet in San Diego, California, conducting research regarding San Diegans ideas about healthcare and their understanding of health literacy/information.

FUture plans:

  • Our research workshop programs, soon to be brought to life, are a means of community connection and education. These sessions will encourage young people to start or gather their own research, write research papers, videos, songs, or make art etc. about STEM while providing support in the making and publishing of ones findings!

  • Start a club chapter or wellness booth at your school with generation heard. For more information on starting a club chapter email us, sign up through the volunteer form or check out club activities on our social media (@generation.heard).

  • Outreach and awarenss are the hardest parts about starting a non—profit. However, hardworking volunteers, mentors, doctors and the support other groups are what foster success.
